Racal Antennas Limited has many years of experience in design, development and manufacture of manpack/portable antennas for the military user. They have been developed after consultation with military users and radio manufacturers worldwide.

The 4020-910 ground spike antenna kit is for use with manpack radios and gives the capability to remote an antenna from its radio allowing the soldier to operate from a more secure environment, which could either be a shell scrape, tent, building, or any other protective environment.  The antenna can also be elevated onto buildings and trees or used in conjunction with a 5.4m mast kit (model 4025).  When the antenna is elevated with the 5.4m mast kit operating range of the radio is significantly improved.
