The 4020-900 ground spike antenna kit is for use with manpack radios and gives the capability to remote an antenna from its radio allowing the soldier to operate from a more secure environment, which could either be a shell scrape, tent, building, or any other protective environment. The antenna can be ground mounted or elevated on the supplied 5.4m mast kit. When the antenna is elevated with the 5.4m mast kit operating range of the radio is significantly improved.
