The 3003-920 VHF tactical Elevated Antenna provides improved performance where an increase in omni-directional range is required over poorly located ground based equipment and vehicle mounted whips. The antenna is broadband and vertically polarised, for inter-operation with vehicle mounted, manpack and portable radios, as well as other elevated antenna sites. It is rugged and able to withstand a wide range of conditions and environments. The elevated antenna base is a ruggedised moulded design, which contains the antenna-matching unit. An integral aluminium base casting fitted with a 24mm spigot allows the 3003-920 to be fitted directly to all NATO standard masts, or any of Racal Antennas lightweight mast series. There are two fibreglass whip-radiating elements, which screw together and are mounted directly to the top of the base assembly. A ground plane is provided by 3 flexible wire stainless steel radials, which are deployed as part of the mast guying system.
