The DIFAN is a wide band delta antenna designed to radiate high-angle skywave signals for short to medium range HF communications.  It has a low angle takeoff at the higher frequencies to provide medium to long range capability.  The DIFAN system is supplied with a single lightweight aluminium lattice support mast, guys, anchors and fixings. The antenna array is constructed of phosphor bronze comprising 3 pairs of delta travelling wave antennas linked, via a third terminating delta to a terminating load. This method of feeding and terminating the elements makes the antennas performance substantially independent of ground conditions therefore a ground screen system is not required.  Optional items such as mast earthing kit, tool kit, falling derrick kit and aviation obstruction warning light are also available should they be required.
